Our school has a highly supportive P & C group, which usually meet once month.
A P&C is made up of parents or guardians of children attending a school and other interested persons over the age of 18 years who have paid an annual subscription ($1.00). The principal of the school is ex-officio a member. Parents and Citizens’ Associations (P&C) are established under the Education Act of Western Australia for the purpose of supporting a strong government school system for the benefit of all students.
Role
- Support the school and the school community in the education of its children
- Set up committees to carry out the business of the P&C Association, namely Social & Fundraising, Uniform etc
- Develop parent participation and involvement in the school
- Establish a forum for parents to discuss issues and gather opinions pertaining to the school and community
- Bring educational matters to the attention of the wider community
- Through fundraising, able to provide extra amenities for the benefit of students
